After more than 22 years with the Nevada Public Employees’ Retirement System, Executive Officer Tina Leiss has decided to step down to pursue a new opportunity. Ms. Leiss has been the Executive Officer since 2013 and served as the Operations Officer from 2004-2013.
The Retirement Board has appointed Chief investment Officer Steve Edmundson as the new Executive Officer effective July 7, 2026. Mr. Edmundson has acted in his capacity of overseeing the System’s investment program since December 2012. Mr. Edmundson originally joined the System in 2005, serving as the Assistant Investment Officer prior to his appointment as Chief Investment Officer. Prior to his work at the System, Mr. Edmundson spent five years at Oracle Corporation’s International Treasury department based in Reno, Nevada.
Mr. Edmundson earned a B.A. from Montana State University, Bozeman and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
