POLICE & FIREMEN'S RETIREMENT FUND ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
September 8, 2003
This agenda was posted at PERS, 693 West Nye Lane, Carson City; 5820 South
Eastern Blvd, Suite 220, Las Vegas; Washoe County Airport Authority Fire
Department, 1910 National Guard Way, Reno; and Clark County Fire Department,
575 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas.
The meeting was called to order at 10:36 a.m. at the Public Employees' Retirement
System, at 693 West Nye Lane, Carson City. Members present: Bill Loncar, Fred Galey,
Rusty McAllister, Rich Tiran and Dean Molburg via conference call.

On a motion by Rich Tiran, seconded by Bill Loncar, the committee voted unanimously to approve the Minutes of the PFRFAC meeting held June 24, 2003.

There were no changes to the 2003 meeting dates.

Deputy State Fire Marshal IV
On a motion by Rusty McAllister, seconded by Dean Molburg, the Committee voted unanimously to change the position of the Deputy State Fire Marshal IV from promotional coverage to approved coverage.

Police Lieutenant - Executive Director of Intergovernmental Services
On a motion by Rusty McAllister, seconded by Fred Galey, the Committee voted unanimously to recommend promotional coverage for the Police Lieutenant - Executive Director of Intergovernmental Services.

Review of planned position coverage application changes and policy revisions related to the Police Officer and Fireman Early Retirement Study update.
Patti Keyes gave an informational presentation regarding the changes to the application process and the policy revisions related to the Police Officer and Fireman's fund.
The committee also received a handout from the Peace Officers Research Association of Nevada to review regarding the planned position coverage application changes. Mike Cleveland from the Reno Police Protective Association was present and addressed the committee regarding the handout from the Peace Officers Research Association of Nevada.

Dana Bilyeu gave an informational presentation regarding this bill and its impact on the members of the Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada.

Ratifications - Title Changes (Action)
On a motion by Fred Galey, seconded by Rich Tiran, the Committee voted unanimously to recommend approval of title changes for the following:

- Staff Reports
Dana Bilyeu, Operations Officer, addressed the committee regarding the retirement of George Pyne, the Executive Officer of the Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada. Ms. Bilyeu also informed the committee about the status of filling the position that is vacant with George Pyne's retirement. The committee was also informed about the status of the Actuary update, the mortality tables, the salary assumption tables, and the improvements that were made to the Public Employees' Retirement Systems website.
